Message they are never driven on and the tire characteristics don't change during horizontal or lateral movements no matter how harsh the transition. That's why we run them this way..we are on the edge of car control..everything matters. A sidewall that is not completely stiff will have play in it during a harsh transition..so in our sport it's very important..it wouldn't matter so much in the road racing or daily driving world since cars aren't thrown around so violently.
